Built in 1893 for Colonel John Woodcock, Dallas Dhu House reflects the prosperity and craftsmanship of the Victorian era. Colonel Woodcock, a retired officer who served in India and later built his fortune trading tea, commissioned renowned architect Alexander Ross, with the house later completed by Peter Fulton around 1900.
The property’s jewel is its Mackenzie & Moncur conservatory, created by the premier glasshouse designers of the day — whose clients included Queen Victoria herself. Every room in the house tells a story, from its grand staircase and carved fireplaces to its ballroom and music room, each preserving the charm and detail of a bygone age.

The house comfortably accommodates up to 20 guests across its beautifully appointed bedrooms. The first floor features eight main bedrooms (one en-suite), alongside a variety of bathrooms and shower rooms. A further six bedrooms are found on the half-landing, with additional attic accommodation above — perfect for large groups, family gatherings or retreats.
Each room is spacious, peaceful and full of character, many with views over the lawns and surrounding woodland.

To the north lies a beautifully maintained walled garden, home to fruit trees, vegetable beds and quiet seating areas.
